DEPUTY DIRECTOR (Teaching and Learning)


The Governors are seeking to appoint a dynamic and well-qualified individual to provide inspirational leadership of teaching and learning within the British Section. The position becomes available upon the current postholder’s retirement in August 2021.

The Deputy Director (Teaching and Learning) will be an English or History/Geography specialist with proven experience of successful leadership and management in a high-performing academic environment.

The British Section is the largest of 14 International sections forming the Lycée International Saint-Germain-en-Laye, one of the most successful and respected schools in France. The school was founded by General Eisenhower in 1952 and has taken a leading role in the creation and development of the Option Internationale du Baccalauréat (OIB). The OIB is a school leavers’ qualification developed and managed in partnership between the French Education Ministry and Cambridge Assessment International Education. The Lycée International has recently undergone a €73 million renovation and redevelopment funded by the French state.
